Beowulf has recently changed hands from Phil to me (Joe). Last year, I moved in next door to Phil. Phil had been running Beowulf for 25 years and he was ready to retire. This was an opportunity I had always been looking for but never believed it would quite literally appear on my doorstep.
You couldn’t make it up. The deal was struck, and I am now the very proud owner of Beowulf Brewing Company. 25 years of brewing history, I am brewing an extensive back catalogue of award-winning, premium real ales.
I have been passionate about real ales since my early 20’s and I am very excited for you to join me on this real ale adventure. I truly believe that there is a real ale for everybody and with the right guidance it is impossible not to fall in love with at least one of our many varieties.
I look forward to meeting you all along the way. Please come and say hello at the brewery in Chasewater sometime if you are ever passing by. I am committed to bringing Beowulf Brewery’s brilliance to you all in the same way you have come to expect over the years. Cheers!

OUR SIGNATURE BEERS
DARK RAVEN
Like Beowulf, Dark Raven has become a legend and Beowulf’s flagship dark ale. Headlining the renowned dark beers of Beowulf Brewery it is brewed using pale, black and crystal malts and hopped with Fuggles. It has a BIG smoked malt aroma with liquorice, espresso coffee, dark chocolate and burnt fruit. Bitter hops break through on the palate and finish with creamy coffee, dark fruit and roasted grain. Over the years it has won numerous awards and is a favourite of many – here to stay, forever!
WULF
Wulf is Beowulf Breweries flagship pale ale. It headlines the pale ale selection from the brewery and is delightfully quaffable in taste, a true 'easy-drinker'. The name is obviously taken from the word Beowulf but the beer also uses Wolf hops - it was a match made in Beowulf folklore! This is a golden and hoppy pale ale with a hint of grapefruit and passionfruit - a proud, single-hop beer that is both crisp and refreshing.
