HISTORY

When Phil began planning for the Beowulf Brewing Company in 1996 there was no brewing going on in Birmingham.

The original site of the brewery was in Yardley, where independent beer production started in the city in 1997. Beowulf began in a disused ex Co-op shop.

Our original “signature” beer, Heroes Bitter, is still popular and sits at the head of a capacious list of regular and occasional beers. Now on the shore of Chasewater near Brownhills, Staffordshire the brewery is awash with Regional and National awards.

Beowulf’s dark beers attract particular praise, devotion and accolades. All our cask and bottled beers will be listed along with some other interesting stuff.
